Like so many other couples, Courtney & Chris have been to a million weddings and knew they wanted an experience for guests and more time to be with them than just during a reception. Because of that, they booked Stout’s Island Lodge to have an entire weekend away with family and friends. Even though we were at a rustic lodge, the couple wanted to have a black-tie affair and knew that Courtney’s love of glitter needed to be represented so we came up with the theme of “Glam in the Woods.” For the wedding itself, we brought in a beautiful sailcloth tent, velvet linens, custom-made fringe lighting structures, gorgeous florals and lots of bug spray to ensure guests had an upscale experience on an island in the middle of a lake. We added biodegradable glitter to the floral lining the aisle so Courtney had all of the sparkle she needed for her big entrance and then Chris made edible glitter sprays that the staff used for their custom cocktails. It was truly a personalized event that could have only been Courtney & Chris’s day.
